James Suckling
"A most elegant Saint-Aubin, both straight and rich, balanced by a beautiful acidity".
"Les Picards farm 2.8 ha of this climat planted with Chardonnay and Pinot. Here, the red side is honored with a lovely deep ruby wine, with an elegant nose of wild strawberry, vanilla and mocha. On the palate, the attack is straightforward, followed by a round, fruity (red fruit) and long finish, supported by silky tannins. A Saint-Aubin that highlights the finesse of the appellation". Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2021 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Francine Picard, Michel's daughter, puts all her considerable energy and idealism into reshaping the style of wines from the family empire, 140 hectares of vines. Since May 2019, she has been supported by biodynamic consultant Antoine Lepetit, her new technical director. The estate will be certified organic at the end of 2019, and the changes are set to continue with even more precise vinification and ageing. A wide range of top-quality red and white cuvées gives a real insight into the different climates of the Chassagne and Saint-Aubin area.

About the wine:
I love the mushrooms and earthy nuances of red cherries. Medium-bodied, juicy and supple, with well-integrated tannins and a bright finish. Drink now or cellar.
James Suckling
Rated wine (guide 2024 ) 91/100
About the wine:
Tasted at the same time as the 2019 bottling, this 2018 Le Charmois shows ripe, juicy tones of blackberry and raspberry, balanced by a spine bristling with red currant and sour cherry. Ripe yet piercing and pure in fruit, this is a luminous Pinot Noir enhanced by streaks of stony, saline minerality. At its peak today, this wine should hold up well until 2034.
