"The most intense of the estate's Saint-Romains".

"The terrific Saint-Romain Sous le Château 2020 blends aromas of orange zest and crisp orchard fruit with notes of cake spice, custard, white flowers and youthful reduction. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and racy, with lively acidity and a long, chalky finish, this is a light, ethereal white Burgundy of real class and distinction" (Wine Advocate 2022).

Bettane & Desseauve

Domain rated (2023 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Frédérick and Franck Buisson, whose family presence in the village dates back to the 12th century, represent the eighth generation of winemakers at this historic Saint-Romain estate. Ecocert-certified since 2012, they develop the most natural viticulture and oenology. The red wines, which still contain some whole bunches, offer a precise vision of their terroir that argues for the rediscovery of a Saint-Romain we haven't often seen at this level. The precise whites are not to be outdone.

Domaine rated (2023 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

Frédéric, winemaker, and Franck, salesman, manage one of the largest domains vineyards in the southern Côte de Beaune. Certified organic since 2009, they will be switching to biodynamic viticulture in 2018. For ten years now, they have been following the lunar calendar for their bottling. Serious work in the vineyard and cellar enables them to produce deep, racy wines that age well. This is an estate that perfectly enhances the Saint-Romain appellation in both red and white, with fine, precise and elegant wines. A range of wines that richly deserve their first star.
