Champagne Billecart-Salmon
Billecart-Salmon is a Champagne House founded in 1818 by Nicolas-François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon. Today, the 7th generation of the Billecart-Salmon family, based in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, is successfully perpetuating the foundations that have made it one of the great Champagne Houses. "Finesse, balance and elegance" sum up the spirit and style of Champagne Billecart-Salmon.

Regularly cited for the quality of its cuvées, Maison Billecart-Salmon cultivates 30 hectares of vines in Champagne, and supplements its supply with grapes harvested within a 20-kilometer radius of Epernay, where the finest crus coexist. All or part of the vinification is carried out in barrels made from Burgundy grands crus, and the bottles of Champagne are aged at 12°C in a network of 17th- and 19th-century chalk cellars. A skilful blend of tradition and today's demands, Maison Billecart-Salmon aims and strives, more than ever, for excellence.

"Signature of the House

"Based on the 2016 vintage, Billarcart-Salmon's new Brut Rosé is shaping up well, blending notes of red fruits and plums with notions of peach, dried flowers and orange peel. Medium to full-bodied, mellow and elegant, it's bright and charming, with a generous core of fruit, racy acids and fine mousse. Generous and demonstrative, it's already very good today." (Wine Advocate - William Kelley ) All elegance!

"Know-how

"Based on the 2015 vintage and disgorged with a dosage of 9 grams per liter, the latest version of Brut Réserve contains an entire 55% reserve wine and presents itself very well, offering complex aromas of warm bread, crisp green fruit and citrus oil. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied and charming yet lively, with an elegantly textured attack, a fleshy core of fruit and lively, balancing acids." (Wine Advocate - William Kelley)

Notes : Bettane & Desseauve 16/20, RVF 15.5/20
The Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs surprises with a pure intensity of dried fruit aromas (almond, fresh hazelnut), mingled with those of white-fleshed fruit. A creamy sensation of finely chiselled bubbles on the palate combines with brioche and mineral nuances. A persistent finish of fresh, elegant suavity!

Champagne Billecart-Salmon - Nicolas François Billecart Brut 2000

Note: Gault Millau 18.5/20, RVF 16/20
"As delicious as ever, this 2000 follows its evolution with a complex bouquet of curry, roasted dried fruit and nutty butter. The palate is taut, fine and very mineral, with a long persistent taste. A little decanting will make this a great table wine". (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2011 - Gault Millau)
