Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 5*Stars (Outstanding producers, those who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and the world)

About the domain :

Twice a century old, this family-run business from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ gained an international reputation in the 1990s thanks to its airy, refined champagnes, and in particular its flagship rosé. The grapes come mainly from the Épernay area and the Marne valley, particularly the Grand Crus. The company owns very few of its own vineyards (a dozen hectares), but can rely on very high-level supply contracts. The whole range appears refined, favoring harmony over power, with many nuances to be found in each of the numerous cuvées. Today, Billecart is one of the great names in Champagne.

About the domain :

Billecart-Salmon is a rare family-run business in full health. It owes its dazzling success in recent years to wines of the highest quality and a sales policy geared towards the catering trade. An inveterate traveler, the dynamic Alexandre Bader, the company's managing director, has succeeded in establishing the Mareuil-sur-Aÿ-based brand worldwide, with production approaching two million bottles. Now equipped with a new work tool, the company can look to the future with serenity.
