Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2013 guide) 17/20 (Reference wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
A full-bodied wine, powerful but balanced, with low dosage, a highly successful blend, more full-bodied than the Blanc de Blancs.
About the domain :
Located in Cramant, a benchmark terroir for great Chardonnays, this 22-hectare family estate is now in the hands of Jean-Étienne and Jean-Emmanuel Bonnaire. These champagnes are ideal for aperitifs, and are a sure bet in the sector. The siblings also manage Champagnes Paul Clouet, a cousin of the family vineyard since 1992. Some cuvées are aged in wood, and older vintages can be disgorged on request. This is a sure-fire address that is progressing and refining its style.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Like many a Champagne winegrower, the great-grandfather of today's winegrowers became independent of the wine trade in the wake of the 1929 crisis, and began handling his own wines in 1932. Today, the estate covers 25 hectares, mainly in the Côte des Blancs. Since 2012, it has been run by Jean-Emmanuel and Jean-Étienne Bonnaire, sons of Jean-Louis, who passed away in 2015.

About the domain :
On the Côte des Blancs, kingdom of Chardonnay, with vines acquired in Fossoy and Bergères-les-Vertus, the family estate founded in 1932, located in Cramant, is today run by the fourth generation with Jean-Etienne and Jean-Emmanuel Bonnaire. Their 22 hectares of vines, mainly made up of Chardonnay, produce grapes for ageing in vats and old barrels (Ver Sacrum and Variance cuvées, aged under cork for over 6 years). All dosage levels have been reduced.

Prestige of what? Other cuvées are just as interesting and less expensive.
