"We always salute the freshness, the tonic and acidic grain of the brut Fleur de Champagne, the group's most widely distributed cuvée, young, well-fruited, whose light bubbles characterize the Duval spirit." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF). "A very fine star shines on this champagne, delicately floral and mineral on the nose, revealing citrus, white fruit and honeysuckle aromas on the palate within a very well-balanced body. A harmonious aperitif champagne". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Under the energetic and passionate leadership of Carol Duval, now supported by her sons, this house, established since 1859 in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, has never ceased to raise its standards. The company's own vineyards are extensive, covering 200 hectares, with a high proportion of Grand Cru wines from the Côte des Blancs. This represents a third of the company's needs, and it produces 5 million bottles a year. The cellar master is also a woman, Sandrine Logette-Jardin.

Guide Hachette des vins

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (2014 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About the wine:

Founded in 1859, the company has been run since 1991 by Carol Duval-Leroy. Its 200 ha of vineyards make it the largest champagne house on the Côte des Blancs. While Chardonnay is often the sole representative of its cuvées, this one features 15% Pinot Noir alongside white grapes. All have noble origins: grands crus and 1ers crus from Montagne de Reims, Grande Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. The star shines brightly on this champagne, delicately floral and mineral on the nose, revealing citrus, white fruit and honeysuckle aromas on the palate, within a well-balanced body. A harmonious aperitif champagne.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 14.5/20 (Good wine)

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Fleur de Champagne brut, the group's most widely distributed cuvée, is always fresh, invigorating and tangy. It's young, fruity, with light bubbles that characterize the Duval spirit.

About the domain :

In the south of the Côte des Blancs, this family-run house has flourished under the direct and energetic leadership of Carol Duval-Leroy, surrounded by her sons Julien and Charles. A recent success story embodied by a dynamic widow as Champagne loves them. This Belgian hunting enthusiast has turned Duval into a modern, accessible brand, now a partner of sommeliers. The winery's surface area (barrel vinification, storage) has doubled since 2009. Sandrine Logette, one of the few female cellar managers, has been in charge of vinification since 2007. She perpetuates the spirit of innovation of an eclectic, predominantly Chardonnay range, with bubbles marked by creaminess and a fine waistline.
