"The 2000 Femme de Champagne is another noble prestige cuvée from Duval-Leroy and, frankly, it's even more beautiful, purer and more delicate than the 1996. Purity and perfect tension, elegance and finesse are as evident on the nose (apple, brioche, white chocolate, hazelnut, floral aromas) as on the palate, where this medium- to full-bodied wine leads to a firm, mineral and complex finish of great persistence." Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 17/20 (Reference wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
The cuvée is subtle and elegant. The bubbles are fine, the allonge suave and deep, with a nicely nervous finish.
About the domain :
Under the energetic and passionate leadership of Carol Duval, now supported by her sons, this house, established since 1859 in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs, has never ceased to raise its standards. The company's own vineyards are extensive, covering 200 hectares, with a high proportion of Grand Cru wines from the Côte des Blancs. This represents a third of the company's needs, and it produces 5 million bottles a year. The cellar master is also a woman, Sandrine Logette-Jardin.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2012 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About the wine:
The prestige cuvée Femme de Champagne 2000 (€50-75) also honors Chardonnay (95%). The 1996 vintage was elected Favorite, and this year it gets a star for its honey and candied citrus aromas, as well as for its frank, pleasant and persistent palate.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Rated 17/20 (Outstanding)
About the wine:
The years go by and the freshness of this cuvée remains. An elegant style with aromas of vanilla, mushroom and medlar jelly, and citrus flavors on the palate which, together with the finesse of the bubbles, offer fine balance. A racy champagne reaching its peak.

Wine rated (2015 guide) 16.5/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The grande cuvée Femme de Champagne 2000 offers a sophisticated and colorful outfit.
About the domain :
In the south of the Côte des Blancs, this family-run house has flourished under the direct and energetic leadership of Carol Duval-Leroy, surrounded by her sons Julien and Charles. A recent success story embodied by a dynamic widow as Champagne loves them. This Belgian hunting enthusiast has turned Duval into a modern, accessible brand, now a partner of sommeliers. The winery's surface area (barrel vinification, storage) has doubled since 2009. Sandrine Logette, one of the few female cellar managers, has been in charge of vinification since 2007. She perpetuates the spirit of innovation of an eclectic, predominantly Chardonnay range, with bubbles marked by creaminess and a fine waistline.
