Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
The cordon rouge brand, one of the most famous in the world, has belonged to the Pernod-Ricard group since 2005. In addition to a comprehensive, tasty classic range, RSRV offers a magnificent range for connoisseurs, featuring four exciting cuvées: the famous mumm-de-cramant, a dazzlingly fine blanc de blancs; its pinot noir alter ego, blanc de noirs; an intense, racy rosé called foujita; and a cuvée d'assemblage aged longer in the cellar. Added to this brilliant range is a remarkable interpretation of the legendary cuvée lalou. All these wines are to be rediscovered as a matter of urgency. The great houses are eternal, and Mumm is no exception. Numerous changes now enable it to commit itself even further to excellence.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2025) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Like other great names in Champagne, the House of Mumm is of German origin, founded in 1827 by the three Mumm brothers, Jacobus, Gottlieb and Philipp, sons of a Cologne merchant. Georges-Hermann Mumm, the founder's grandson, bequeathed his initials to the company, and in 1875 launched the Cordon Rouge, an evocation of the Legion of Honor. The business remained in the family until 1914, when it was put into receivership due to the German nationality of its owners. With 218 ha of its own vineyards, the company has been one of the Pernod-Ricard group's Champagne flagships since 2005. Laurent Fresnet, its cellar master, perpetuates the house style, with its emphasis on Pinot Noir.

Domaine noté (guide 2025) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
A harmonious champagne, with relief, a beautiful "red fruit" character and acidity. The palate is supple, the texture soft, with underlying tension and creaminess. Not a full-bodied wine, but tender, with fine bubbles and a fresh finish.
About the domain :
Champagne's fourth-largest brand by volume is back on track, with the ambition of increasing its volumes. It is not in the tradition of the Pernod-Ricard group, owner since 2005, to play on the elitism of its brands. Mumm is moving upmarket without cutting itself off from the general public in its pricing policy. The RSRV range, initially reserved for a "circle of friends" of the house, opens up to the public and expresses the best that the house can offer in different approaches: blanc de blancs, blanc de noirs, rosé and now Cuvée Lalou. Mumm is out of the guide this year: their entry-level wines are not up to scratch, and their top-of-the-range cuvées are far from reaching the top.

tjrs tres stable en terme de qualité, bravo; même si je le trouve qu'il a tendance a être un peu trop fruité... mais c'est son style ...
