"A certain idea of Champagne elegance, this cuvée rivals the finest crus!"

"This cuvée comes from a plot of Chardonnay vines vinified in casks. The nose reveals orange blossom and lilac on a background of exotic fruit and ripe mirabelle plums. The palate is vinous with butter and brioche. Ample, generous and powerful. The saline finish brings energy and lets the chalky, finely structured side speak for itself. This is truly a great, great vintage. (Le Guide Gault et Millau).

Expert opinion

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Located in the hills above Épernay, the Janisson-Baradon estate is run by Richard Janisson and his two sons Maxence and Cyril. The vineyard comprises 9 hectares of slopes surrounding the champagne capital, carefully and attentively tended. The Janissons have cleverly modernized the style of their wines, and this year again, parcel selections dominated the tasting, with champagnes of assertive character that retain the suppleness of the sector. A sure bet.

Domaine noté (guide 2023) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the domain :

Located in the hills above Épernay, this estate was founded in 1922 by a winemaker and a cooper, and is now run by their descendants, Maxence and Cyril Janisson, the former in charge of management, the latter in charge of the vineyard and cellar. The brothers have over 9 ha of vines. HVE-certified property.

About the domain :

Founded in 1922 by Georges Baradon, a remueur, and his son-in-law, Maurice Janisson, a cooper, the estate is still run by the Janisson family, who cultivate just over 9 hectares of vines on the western slopes of Épernay, in Chouilly and Brimont. The vineyards have been tilled since 1997, without the use of weedkillers. Most cuvées are a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay, in equal proportions.

An elegant wine, a good Champagne. But it's a Champagne: you can find better and cheaper wines in certain Cremants and other Vouvray...
