Champagne Janisson Baradon
Janisson Baradon et Fils is a champagne house owned by the Janisson family, winegrowers for 5 generations. The Janisson Baradon Champagne House cultivates around 9 hectares of vines in Epernay, and plots in Chouilly and Brimont. For several years now, the vineyards have been managed using the "lutte raisonnée" method. Each plot is planted with grass to protect the biological functioning of the soil, thus favoring healthy ecological methods. Established on the hills above Epernay, this beautiful house was created by Georges Baradon (remueur) and his son-in-law (tonnelier) in 1922.

Today run by Richard Janisson and his two sons, Maxence and Cyril, the Janisson Baradon Champagne House has always sought to assert the character of its champagnes and the typicity of their terroir, notably by harvesting at high ripeness. The wines are matured in vats and small oak barrels, and aged for at least three years in total darkness, deep in the chalk cellars. The blending of the wines is a family affair, with each cuvée expressing itself in the purest Janisson Baradon Champagne style, between finesse and subtlety. A true winemaker's Champagne to discover!

"The nose seems discreet, with hints of kirsch. The palate is greedy, fruity, rich and velvety. The fatness of this cuvée will coat a red fruit chantilly or, in another register, a Basque cheese accompanied by black cherries." (Le Guide Gault & Millau) This Champagne rosé is produced on the basis of the brut selection, to which is added 12% Bouzy rouge, a Coteaux Champenois Grand Cru. Enjoy with fruit-based desserts.

"A certain idea of Champagne elegance, this cuvée rivals the finest crus!"

"This cuvée comes from a plot of Chardonnay vines vinified in casks. The nose reveals orange blossom and lilac on a background of exotic fruit and ripe mirabelle plums. The palate is vinous with butter and brioche. Ample, generous and powerful. The saline finish brings energy and lets the chalky, finely structured side speak for itself. This is truly a great, great vintage. (Le Guide Gault et Millau).

From the Tue Boeuf parcel in the Epernay terroir, this cuvée offers a toasty, candied aromatic nose from the very first seconds (grapes, hazelnuts, cherries). A particularly colorful Champagne, with a flight of warm spices on the finish. A must-have!

14,5/20 Gault & Millau

A very pretty Brut Tradition for aperitifs or the start of a meal, with a deliciously fruity nose of vine peaches and grapes. Its lively bubbles on the palate are a delight. A Champagne that faithfully reflects the terroir of the Janisson-Baradon plots... A fine entry-level wine!

"It's important to dare to use no dosage and, above all, to succeed. The fruit must be very ripe, with natural richness and a certain density to balance the sometimes striking minerality and citrus fruit. A major success for this taut but voluminous cuvée". (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault Millau)
