Wine rated (guide 2024) 94/100

4-star rated estates (top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the wine:

Rosé Solera made from an original Solera red wine, giving it an inimitable character.

About the domain :

This beautiful cellar with its ultra-modern facilities just outside Reims operates with the rigor and seriousness of a house, which is reflected in the care given to the range. Supplies are sourced from the northern sectors of the Montagne de Reims, which is reflected in the straightforwardness of the cuvées, from the successful blanc de blancs to the Solera rosé, made from an original solera of red wine, giving it an inimitable cachet. The vintages age here to perfection, and are brought back to market after a few more years in the cellar.

About the domain :

Champagne Palmer & Co is an offshoot of the Société Coopérative des Grands Crus de la Champagne, based in Avize since 1947. The Palmer & Co brand was created the following year, in 1948. The founders were seven winegrowers with vineyards in the premier and grand crus of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. The cooperative moved to Reims in 1959, and began to open up to other vineyards such as Sézannais and the Riceys region. By the 1980s, the symbolic milestone of one million bottles of champagne had been reached.

Rated wine (guide 2023) 90/100

About the wine:

NV Brut Rosé Solera is a blend of 46% Chardonnay, 37% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier. Its color comes from the addition of 9% solera-preserved red wine. Soft notes of strawberry and cream emerge from this pale pink wine. On the palate, a lively, slightly creamy mousse and brilliant freshness are sustained by the gentle autolysis of the rye crumb and the tender resonance of the fruit of the reserve wines. With its predominance of Chardonnay and slender, taut body, it's a perfect aperitif-style Champagne rosé.
