« 8% de pinots noirs issus de Bouzy et de Cumières s'allient aux chardonnays du Domaine. Sa couleur groseille offre un nez raffiné aux subtiles notes de fraises, framboises écrasées, l'éclat du zest clémentine est absolu. La bouche est un bouquet de rose, un bonbon à la fraise, c'est attrayant, de plus, la finale mêle tendrement zest et sel fin sur des tannins nourissants. » (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve). Une cuvée atypique !

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Vin noté (guide 2020) 15/20 (Très bon vin)
Rated domain (guide 2025) 4*Stars (High-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine :
8% Pinot Noir from Bouzy and Cumières blends with the Domaine's Chardonnays. Its redcurrant color offers a refined nose with subtle notes of strawberries, crushed raspberries, and an absolute burst of clementine zest. On the palate, a bouquet of rose and strawberry candy is appealing, and the finish tenderly blends zest and fine salt on nourishing tannins.
About the domain :
Didier and Olivier Gimonnet perpetuate the family domaine, cultivating 30 hectares and 40 parcels in five villages of the Côte des Blancs: Cuis, Cramant, Oger, Chouilly and Vertus, from which they strive to deliver the purest version, with low dosage. In love with the vines, their viticulture methods are focused on respect for the soil and biodiversity. Forerunners in parcel-by-parcel vinification in stainless steel tanks, in the art of blending and in true no-dosage champagnes, the Gimonnet style is recognizable in its fine, precise and slender complexity.

About the domain :
The Gimonnet de Cuis line goes back to the 18th century. Champagne was born in the 1920s, with Pierre. His son Michel introduced parcel-based vinification at an early stage. His grandsons Didier and Olivier arrived on the estate in the 1980s, and took over in 1996. They manage a vast estate (29 ha) in the Côte des Blancs, producing Grand Cru and 1er Cru wines. Their wine list includes blanc de blancs, with the exception of rosé.

Vin noté (guide 2021) 92/100
Rated domain (guide 2025) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine :
Made from a 2018 base of 95% Chardonnay, this is a very distinguished rosé, fine and delicate on the palate. Beautiful notes of red berries and a lovely tonicity on the finish. A superb classic.
About the domain :
Few Champagne winemakers can match Didier and Olivier Gimonnet's claim to own 28 hectares of vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, including 12 Grand Cru vineyards in Cuis, Vertus, Cramant, Chouilly and Oger. The two brothers continue to cultivate the blending of terroirs, perpetuating their refined, wise style, with no harshness (malolactic fermentation done) and never exuberance; they appeal to novices and lovers of great blanc de blancs alike. The Gimonnets are brilliant at taming the often cold and austere Cuis chardonnays.
