Champagne Ruinart
Ruinart is the oldest Champagne house in France. Founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart in Epernay, it was only later that the company moved to Reims. Today, it belongs to the LVMH Group.

The Ruinart Champagne House has gone from strength to strength since the 1980s, a revival driven by Jean-François Barot, Cellar Master from 1985 to 2002. Today, the talented Frédéric Panaïotis is in charge of perpetuating the tradition of the famous "Ruinart taste".

Ruinart Champagne wines are appreciated for their precise expression of their terroir of origin, with great delicacy and aromatic purity where minerality expresses itself wonderfully.

Ruinart remains a benchmark in the world of champagne and vintage. With almost 300 years in the business, the house continues to defy the competition. The brand's emblem, signature and famous R de Ruinart are just some of the key points to remember before enjoying this unrivalled art.

Ruinart, more than just a champagne brand

The House of Ruinart was created by a revolutionary monk and pioneer of his time. Back in 1792, when champagne had no such delectable, well-balanced taste, Benedictine monk Dom Thierry Ruinart invented the first sparkling wine of its kind. His work went on to enjoy unparalleled success, and was at the origin of this exceptional brand. From "vin à bulles" to Champagne, the monk's invention has now spanned almost three centuries and still retains its purity. A leader in its field, the House was the first to market, among other things, Champagne Rosé, setting itself further apart from the competition. It was also the first to use crayères as cellars.

A source of pride for both Reims and France, the vineyards and cellars of Maison Ruinart are now open to the public by appointment only. Unique and majestic, Maison Ruinart is also a historic site and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015.

Ruinart champagnes have thus become a true heritage in the art of champagne and in the cultural sphere. Indeed, the brand was particularly appreciated by the aristocracy and high society. Since their creation, these champagnes have symbolized the typical art of living in France.

Chardonnay grapes and Ruinart champagne, when passion becomes tradition

"Chardonnay is the soul of Ruinart". The abundance of the chardonnay grape in the Reims mountains has shaped the signature and demarcation of Ruinart champagnes.

The golden Chardonnay grape is a combination of Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc. Chardonnay adapts easily to its environment, while remaining easy to maintain. Ruinart's signature Chardonnay remains unsurpassed.

Chadonnay, the mainstay of the brand's tastes and flavors, is the basis for blending the different cuvées of the House. The brand's identity and signature always reflect balance, freshness, elegance and finesse.

The diversity of cuvées offers a wide choice with a respected price-quality ratio. From emblematic cuvées, such as Blanc de Blancs Ruinart, to inexpensive ruinart champagnes, taste buds will always be well served.
Le R de Ruinart, the cuvée Brut with a fruity bouquet from the House of R de Ruinart, brut champagne being the first expression of the House's taste deserves special attention. Ruinart Champagne Brut is a blend of three different grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. The cuvée perfectly conveys the balanced flavor of these grape varieties.

Ruinart R has a bright, limpid yellow color, reflecting the gold and perfection of a brut champagne. A fresh, fruity aroma emanates from the first nose. Floral and spicy notes follow, to reveal more vigor on the second nose, verging on a biscuity aroma.

The first tasting of this brut champagne brings a clear, unmistakable taste. The fruity flavor is immediately recognized. With a well-integrated dosage, this is the basis for a balanced, round and fleshy wine. The R de Ruinart is available in a number of variants, including the 2009, 2010 and 2011 R de Ruinart.

"The emblem of Ruinart taste with this delicate Blanc de Blancs, between freshness and roundness".

"Emblematic Blanc de Blancs in Champagne. Its green gold shimmers, and the referential fragrances of acacia, yellow citrus and white pome fruits are expressed with great precision. Chalky, iodized emanations give it great verticality. The palate shows a lively, crisp sensibility, the apple-pear reading is perfect and the saline acidity very inciting." "Assertive freshness!

"Always a unique and characteristic shimmering raspberry color. The nose develops this perfume associated with just-crushed strawberry flesh, a very precise and pure grenadine blend. The palate translates this juiciness and transparent flesh to some cherry and salivating tones underlined by the chardonnay. What fruit!" (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve).
