Rosé des Riceys
The largest terroir in Champagne with 866 hectares of vines, Les Riceys stands out as the only commune to have 3 AOPs: Champagne, Coteaux Champenois and the Rosé des Riceys. This village of character, the southernmost in the Champagne region and bordering Burgundy, boasts a rich and diverse heritage.
In 1680, the Terrassiers des Riceys introduced Les Riceys wine to the Sun King, who is said to have made it one of his favorite wines. Rosé des Riceys became a PDO in 1947.
A unique and prestigious Champagne production, Rosé des Riceys is a still wine made from Pinot Noir grapes ripened on the best exposed slopes. The unique vinification process is at the heart of the know-how and has been handed down from generation to generation. Today, only 25 winemakers produce this very special nectar.
