Wine rated (2017 guide) 2**Stars (Outstanding wine)

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the wine:

A highly talented winemaker at the service of a highly expressive PGI. From the Grenache grape (80%), he extracts all its aromatic potential: jammy black fruit, blackcurrant jelly. Niellucciu adds spiciness and remarkably well-coated tannins. A beautiful harmony between nose and palate for this supple, greedy wine, which is not short of reserves.

About the domain :

Yves Leccia, an oenologist involved in the revival and promotion of island wines, set up his own estate in 2005, after running the family business with his sister for some fifteen years. Today, with his wife Sandrine, he manages a 16-hectare vineyard on clay-limestone and schist soils in Poggio-d'Oletta. Certified organic since 2017, it is one of the pillars of the Patrimonio appellation, which is also often recognized for its Muscats.

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

YL rouge 2014 is fair and well-balanced, offering a beautiful southern aromatic palette, with notes of oregano and maquis. The tannins are well-managed, and the whole seduces with its roundness.

About the domain :

Yves Leccia and his partner Sandrine run a vineyard located mainly on the E Croce and Partinelone plots. The land is ploughed and tilled, and organic fertilizers are used. In recent years, the estate has innovated with new wines such as O Bà, Biancu Marinu and L'Altru Biancu. These carefully-crafted wines remain good ambassadors for Corsican vineyards, but care must be taken not to erase too much of their individuality: some of the wines, more formatted than in the past, give pride of place to technicality.
