"Juicy, with red berries and powdery tannins, it's a perfect combination!"

"Dominant Grenache and Niellucciu, dark red with purple highlights. Notes of blue plums and roses, fine, ripe and powdery. The mouth texture is tight, juicy and the tannins are just waiting to develop a patina over time. The whole is fresh and soon accessible, for five years or more". (Le Guide RVF 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated 90/ 100

About the wine:

Another very pure, clean thirst-quenching wine, perfectly matching the desires of the time, without betraying the origin, and in keeping with the producer's talent.

About the domain :

Yves Leccia, an oenologist involved in the revival and promotion of island wines, set up his own estate in 2005, after running the family business with his sister for some fifteen years. Today, with his wife Sandrine, he manages a 16-hectare vineyard on clay-limestone and schist soils in Poggio-d'Oletta. Certified organic since 2017, it is one of the pillars of the Patrimonio appellation, which is also often recognized for its Muscats.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 92/100

Domaine rated (2022 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Dominant Grenache and Niellucciu, dark red with purple highlights. Notes of blue plums and roses, fine, ripe and powdery. On the palate, the texture is tight, juicy and the tannins are just waiting to develop a patina over time. The whole is fresh and soon accessible, over five years or more.

About the domain :

Yves Leccia and his partner Sandrine run a vineyard located mainly on the E Croce and Partinelone plots. The land is ploughed and tilled, and organic fertilizers are used. In recent years, the estate has innovated with new wines such as O Bà, Biancu Marinu and L'Altru Biancu. These carefully-crafted wines remain good ambassadors for Corsican vineyards, but care must be taken not to erase too much of their individuality: some of the wines, more formatted than in the past, give pride of place to technicality.

About the wine:

A satiny wine with a spicy touch of nutmeg, violets and wild undergrowth in the fruit of dried cranberry and crushed raspberry. Fresh, juicy and playful.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 17/09/2024

Thanks to a vintage brighter than 2021, this IGP with Côtes du Rhône accents is sun-kissed and delicious at all times. So generous, in fact, that it displays a whirlwind of black plum and jammy red berry flavors, combined with beautiful spices that delight a palate that's both full of vitality and voluptuous, with a graceful taffeta touch. This surge of dapper fruit coated with a hint of licorice closes the long, lingering finish. A little ageing should soften the slight astringency still present and allow the slightly tight tannins to melt away more fully. But already irresistible, this versatile wine was shared with the family around a dish of Provençal-style headless larks and creamy polenta. Score = 4.2 for this slightly expensive "vin de soif".
