Bodegas San Alejandro
Bodegas San Alejandro is a wine cooperative founded in 1962, located in the heart of Spain's Calatayud denomination of origin. The Bodegas San Alejandro estate is located in Miedes, in the province of Aragón. Bodegas San Alejandro brings together some 350 of the region's most talented wine producers, with a total vineyard area of around 1,200 hectares. The Grenache, Tempranillo and Maccabeu grape varieties give their finest expression on chalky soils complemented by limestone scree and red clay.

Bodegas San Alejandro uses the most modern techniques in the production of its wines, particularly in the vinification process. These techniques are used to make the most of the fabulous terroir of the Calatayud appellation, earning Bodegas San Alejandro regular awards for the quality of its vintages, which are exported all over the world, especially to the United States.

"Las Rocas 2009 is a 100% Grenache from 80-year-old DO Calatayud vines, 25% of which are aged in wood. A ripe wine, with savory aromas, that should win unanimous praise. It's a sure value that will provide pleasure over the next 5 years". (The Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

New vintage, 2006 rated: Robert Parker 91/100
Las Rocas Garnacha Vinas Viejas (Grenache Vieilles Vignes) shines with the panache and typicity of old Grenache vines, sometimes more than a hundred years old, which give it a complex, mineral bouquet, with notes of ripe fruit and spices. A wine that gains in structure and complexity thanks to 12 months' ageing in oak barrels. A 2007 vintage not to be missed!

5/5 (1 review)

This delicious rosé comes 100% from the bodega's favorite grape variety, Grenache Noir. Harvested at full maturity, Las Rocas Rosado is fresh, fruity and intense, both in color and nose. It reveals notes of strawberry and raspberry, typical of Grenache in these latitudes. A well-made, all-purpose wine that's a worthy accompaniment to most summer dishes... A sure bet!

Bodegas San Alejandro - Las Rocas Blanco 2008

Las Rocas Blanco is one of Bodegas San Alejandro's flagship wines, made from 100% Spanish maccabeo grapes, which find an ideal terroir of expression on the Aragonese hillsides of the Calatayud appellation. With its remarkable aromatic intensity and well-balanced alcoholic strength and acidity, this is a fresh, pleasant, sun-drenched wine to drink now, in its prime.
