"Made by Combier, Fischer, Gerin!"

"The 2018 RIU comes from a rainier year, somewhat reminiscent of the 2016 in the region. The wine has finesse thanks to a blend of Garnacha, Syrah and Cariñena from granite and slate soils in Torroja. It was fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and aged in well-aged, neutral 500-liter French oak barrels for 12 months. It has no apparent oak taste and is fruity, floral and fresh, with good ripeness at 14% and a juicy palate with lovely balance and some powdery tannins that invite gastronomy." (Wine Advocate 2022)

Note and review by M. MASSIMILIANO G. Published on 08/03/2023

Quite disappointed by this bottle... I find that the power outweighs everything else. I can't find any of the red fruit brightness indicated on the tasting sheet. Perhaps the aeration wasn't sufficient... But even at the end of the tasting, the wine seemed closed. The strong gradation is not forgotten, on the contrary... It lacks elegance.
