Bogeda Mas Doix
Bodega Mas Doix is owned by Ramón Llagostera and Josep Doix, who in 1998 took over the estate from their family Mas Doix and with it the work of 5 passionate generations, dating back to 1850 and the pre-phylloxera era. Their philosophy and core value is to pass on the intrinsic properties of the Priorat terroir. Oenologist Oscar Llombart supports Ramon in his daily work. In fact, Bogeda Mas Doix wine is truly the fruit of an environment, soil, soil slope, orientation, micro-climate and the autoctone grape varieties specific to the region and their know-how.

The geographical location of Bodega Mas Doix, in the north-east of the Priorat, protects the vineyard from two natural barriers: the Montsant (facing north-west) and the Serra del Mollo (facing south-east). Being close to these two barriers, Poboleda benefits from the cool breezes circulating in the valley. This lower-than-normal temperature allows for later harvests and better ripening of the grapes. The soils are mainly "licorella" slate. All Bogeda Mas Doix plots are located at an altitude of 350 to 400 m above sea level.

At Bogeda Mas Doix, the wines made by Ramón Llagostera and Oscar Llombart are great wines for laying down, with a strong personality and limited production. Robert Parker said of the 2006 Doix vintage: "Complex and elegant in the style of La Tâche"!

Bodegas Mas Doix - Priorat Costers de Vinyes Velles 2006

Notes : Robert Parker 97/100, RVF 17/20
"The 2006 Doix rises considerably in power. It develops a bewitchingly sexy bouquet of new oak, liquid minerality, lavender, incense and wild berries. Complex, elegant, in the style of La Tâche, it provokes both the senses and the intellect. This remarkable wine should evolve for another 5-7 years, but it's hard to resist today." (Robert Parker - May 2011)

Rating: Robert Parker 93/100, Wine Spectator Top 100 wines of the year
In the northeastern part of Priorat, Mas Doix enjoys a privileged geographical location, with its vineyards protected between two natural barriers, Montsant and Serra del Mollo. Temperatures here are lower than normal for the region, allowing perfect ripening of the grapes and later harvesting, resulting in intense, superbly balanced wines, such as this splendid Salanques 2006. A great Priorat!
