" NV Único Reserva Especial 2024 has been produced from a blend of wines from 2010, 2011 and 2012, which is not too far removed from the previous version, which came from 2009, 2011 and 2012, as the company is slowly trying to increase the average age of the wine. As I've noticed in recent years, they're looking for an old-fashioned house style, combining more developed characteristics with elegance and freshness. [...] The color shows a certain evolution, with a slight orange hue around the rim. The nose is complex and elegant, a more developed version of the 2014 Único I tasted alongside, with aromas of truffle, forest floor, ripe black fruit, sweet spices, leather and meat. The palate seems utterly polished, with a superb texture, smooth and elegant, with very fine tannins, subtle bitterness and a long, lingering taste. This is a superb blending exercise. 2024-2035" (Wine Advocate 2024) - Wooden case delivery available for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

" [...] the wine is aged for 10 years between the oak and the bottle. It's a vintage that combines power and elegance; it's concentrated yet subtle. I had the unique opportunity to taste it in magnum a year ago and was really impressed. This tasting was a continuation of those sensations. 2014 was a good vintage in the area, a year with good rainfall and a big harvest, not as powerful as 2012 or 2015 but a year with finesse. The wine seems very balanced, less alcoholic and with integrated oak, crisp, fresh and still young. It's a fairly classic wine, fine-boned, elegant but also powerful, a bit like the Únicos of yesteryear. It's undoubtedly one of the best vintages of recent times. [...] This is one of Único's greatest vintages, and it seems that the years ending in four - 1994, 2004, 2014 (but not 84, which was not produced) - are very good here. We'll have to wait and see about the 2024." (Wine Advocate 2024) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected)

Vega Sicilia - Toro Pintia 2019

"The wine released in 2024 is Pintia 2019, from a very dry year when vinification was gentler and 15% stainless steel was used for aging to retain fruit and freshness. It was fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and oak vats. This is a powerful vintage; the wine is 15% alcohol, round and full-bodied. It's a heady, ripe Pintia. We had to be careful with the timing of the harvest, which was early and fairly rapid. Although the wine is ripe and heady, with notes of grenadine and small ripe berries, it's also exotic and spicy, quite showy, lush and full-bodied, with 2019 tannins. This is a more powerful wine that will require patience." (Wine Advocate 2024) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected)

"The second wine in the Bordeaux sense is the Macán Clásico 2019, a more concentrated and powerful wine from a hotter, drier year that was saved by the 80 liters of rain in the first fortnight of September. It was fermented in stainless steel with 10% of their own yeast, and aged 22% in stainless steel and the rest in new and used oak barrels, mainly French but with around 5% American, and lasted 12 months. The wine has a moderate alcohol content of 14%, soft acidity, good freshness and balance. The year 2019 was dry and hot, and vinification was gentle to avoid overly pronounced tannins. The nose is ripe without excess and the oak is well integrated. The palate is juicy and round, with fine tannins and a velvety texture." (Wine Advocate 2023)

"A gorgeous, complex nose with creamy spices, cedar, fresh blackberries, red plums, truffles and hints of walnut and mocha. A medium- to full-bodied wine with multidimensional, stone-tight tannins that line the palate, penetrating from entry to finish with a final thud. Give it three years or more to assert itself." (James Suckling 2022) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected)
Vega Sicilia - Unico Reserva Especial (2019)
95/100 Robert Parker
"As I've noticed in recent years, the non-vintage blend of Único Reserva Especial (2019 vintage) is made with younger vintages than those usually used. In this case, it's the 2006, 2007 and 2009 vintages and, of course, the latest Único cuvées. It's mainly based on Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and a little Cabernet Sauvignon. It had a slightly longer barrel ageing (the blend was bottled in June 2015, at the same time as the Único 2009); so the 2006 and 2007 bases were in barrels longer. It has a similar character to the 2009, perhaps a little more subtle and elegant but not really more complex with tannins and a fairly fleshy body." (Wine Advocate 2019 - Robert Parker) A confidential and mythical cuvée.
