"A truly Mediterranean spirit boasting an all-Italian identity according to the Wine Advocate!"
"The Castello di Ama 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo is one of the most distinctive wines in the vast portfolio offered by this estate. I always seem to find a balsamic note in the San Lorenzo Sangiovese (a blend of some of the estate's finest fruit, with a touch of Merlot and Malvasia Nera), and it comes through clearly in this vintage with toasty rosemary and even a touch of black olive. This wine is truly Mediterranean in spirit, and boasts an entirely Italian identity. Its supple, medium-weight texture is amplified by elegant fruit and spice. Its fresh acidity makes it the ideal partner for your favorite Tuscan pasta or pici recipes. 2023-2038" (Wine Advocate 2021)

About the wine:
A tight, polished red with a beautiful texture of firm, polished but integrated tannins. Full-bodied, with many subtle dark fruit and chocolate characters. Notes of walnut too. Tasty finish. A little tight at the end, but already really delicious. A serious young Gran Selezione. To drink or to keep.
