Isola dei Nuraghi
I.G.T (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) Isola dei Nuraghi refers to the ancient stone towers built by the Nuragic civilization, present in Sardinia from prehistoric times until 238 BC, when the island came under Roman rule.

Isola dei Nuraghi is Saradaigne's main IGT, covering the entire island. Red, white and rosé wines are authorized in the production specifications, but red wines are in the majority.

"A true tribute to the Italian grape variety Vermentino!

"Ziru" is the ancient local name for the jars used to preserve oil and wine. This wine has a long maceration, is aged in earthen jars and is naturally unfiltered. It smells of honey, heady, like the warm, thick perfume of many linden trees in bloom. There's honeysuckle, the buzz of a big, lazy bee and richness, a wine that has the sensuality of a sleepy summer afternoon. Golden and honeyed, but with a wonderful thick, creamy bitterness underpinning it all; folded, dimensional, expressing itself in space, like a rich, broken-textured impasto painting on a raw linen canvas stretched across a frame. Lanolin and aloe, freesia and baked pear, candied grapefruit peel, bay leaf, luminous lemon leaf. Absolutely gorgeous. 2022-2027" (Jancis Robinson 2023)

"Crafted by the same people behind the legendary Tuscan Sassicaia, this is a Sardinian blend of 85% Carignano, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot. Barrua 2013 is a beautifully balanced, straightforward expression with dark fruit aromas that flow effortlessly from the bouquet. These notes of blackberry, plum, dried fig mingle with spice, tar, licorice and black olive. This vintage really works in terms of bouquet intensity and precision. The tannins are integrated, and the wine is textured and long." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

"This is the estate's second wine, a tiny bit less formal than Barrua. Montessu 2015 is a blend of Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah. It is aged in barrels for up to a year. The wine reveals an almost black color with ruby highlights that glow from within. The Cabernet aromas of black fruits, spices, grilled herbs and black olives are instantly recognizable. The wine is structured and soft-textured. It grips the palate with firm intensity."
