Wine rated (2018 guide) 15,5/20 (Very good wine)

Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About wine:

Chardonnay and Savagnin blend harmoniously, offering a rich, salty juice that is long, engaging, and beautifully complex.

About the estate:

It is one of the largest estates in the Jura, with 65 hectares of vines spread across the Arbois, Côtes du Jura, and L'Étoile appellations. The range, which includes numerous cuvées of all types of wine (ouillés, sous voile, crémants, macvin, paille and jaune), with a majority of whites, was considered comprehensive but uneven, with some fine Gems the older vintages. The wines are now regaining a certain consistency in quality.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About wine:

Beautiful character, slender body, green walnut and Comté cheese, fluid and expressive.

About the estate:

The Arbois appellation owes much to the Rolet estate. While it has managed to maintain its own style over the years, combining classic winemaking rooted in Jura traditions with technical expertise, the estate has not always achieved consistency across its entire range. The wines characterized by aging under a veil (particularly the yellow wines of Arbois) are the most consistently successful. In spring 2018, the estate and its vineyard were acquired by the Devillard family, well known for their Burgundy production, along with other shareholders. Under the leadership of Cédric Ducoté, the latest vintages show increased stylistic confidence and greater consistency, which we are delighted to see.

Review and opinion by Mr. PATRICE P. Published on 11/25/2019

There are indeed dried nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds) but also chestnuts on the palate, with a lovely minerality provided by the Chardonnay. 17 to 17*/20. Suitable for poultry with mushrooms (morels) and cream.
