"An example of harmony and a magnificent evocation of the vintage.
"A charm of its own that earned this cuvée top marks. The dark color is imposing, as is the nose, which unreservedly exhales greedy scents of mocha and minty black fruits. Sensual, silky, fresh and sustained by chiselled tannins, the palate is a real winner, with tasty fruit to munch on. An example of harmony and a magnificent evocation of the vintage". About the wine:
A wild charm that earned this cuvée top marks. The dark color is imposing, as is the nose, which unreservedly exhales gourmand scents of mocha and minty black fruits. Sensual, silky, fresh and sustained by chiselled tannins, the palate is a real winner, with tasty fruit to munch on. An example of harmony and a magnificent evocation of the vintage.
About the domain :
Well known for his Ch. Ollieux Romanis, in 2012 Pierre Bories bought Champ des Murailles, a Corbières-Boutenac estate created by François des Ligneris, former owner of Ch. Soutard, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé. Covering some 10 ha on the western flank of the Pinada massif, this vineyard is characterized by a cooler microclimate than Ch. Ollieux Romanis.

I break the myth. I don't find the mentholated nose described on the site. On the contrary, I have a nose of crushed, crushed and even stewed fruit that reminds me of the brett of certain wines; it's as if by trying too hard, we've distorted this wine and stripped away its structure.

Score: 16/20

Pierre Bories' legendary flair once again hits the bull's eye in this Corbières-Boutenac of pure beauty, sublimated by bold tannins. The taste buds are titillated by a pure, brilliant juice delivering a refined, satiny grain, imbued with succulent, tangy notes of red cherry, redcurrant and blackcurrant, infused with fine spices and hints of oak. Delicately textured, the slender, highly perfumed finish ends on a sensation imbued with sensuality. Affordable price. Remarkably well-crafted, this subtle yet seductive cuvée will be waiting until next winter to magnify simmered dishes such as civets of hind or old-fashioned hare accompanied by their spaetzlis. Score= 4.3.
