Château La Bastide
Château La Bastide, located to the north of the Corbières appellation zone, is now run by Nan Ping GAO. He is particularly committed to developing the quality of the wines and improving the vineyards with a very high rate of replanting. The imposing Château La Bastide, already mentioned in the topographical surveys of 1770, has been remodeled several times, and today offers a unique cachet.

The Château La Bastide estate covers 180 hectares of Quaternary clay-limestone terraces with large rounded pebbles of alluvial origin. Always mindful of the quality of the grapes and respect for the environment, we have adopted a sustainable viticultural method over the last six years, which encourages the life of the soil and the expression of the terroir (organic fertilization, tillage). Phytosanitary treatments are constantly reviewed in the light of disease and climatic risks. A motivated team works towards the same goal: wine excellence.

"A red with character

With its intense garnet-red color, this Corbières 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache powerfully delivers aromas of black fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, spices, licorice and smoke after 12 months' barrel ageing. Full-bodied on the palate, with round, coated tannins and an unctuous texture. A full-bodied cuvée to accompany dishes of character.

"It's got everything to please!"

"Roussanne, Bourboulenc and Vermentino are combined in this 2021 aged 6 months in vats, which nurtures the fruit. Scents of peach and apricot perfume a delicate, ample and clean palate, without an ounce of heaviness. Well-typed and remarkably well-balanced, it should be opened within two years. This cuvée of old Syrah vines is a real sun bath. Ripe black fruit aromas and smoky notes dance in the glass. On the palate, there's fruitiness and a silky texture spiced with lovely acidity. The finish is subtly mineral and the length flattering. A fine discovery!

3*Étoile Hachette

(2010 vintage notes)

From a terroir of rounded pebbles and a deep red color with ruby highlights, the estate's Cuvée Tradition boasts a spicy, smoky nose with accents of red fruit and candied morello cherry. A Corbières with silky, ripe tannins on the palate, with aromas of blackcurrant and cherry, and a lovely long finish. An ideal accompaniment to a fine piece of red meat, for example...
