Hachette
"This wine, made from Syrah (70%), Petit Verdot (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon, displays all the virtues of whole-grain vinification. First of all, a lovely aromatic complexity of cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. Then, an ample, suave, dense, full-bodied and very elegant palate, built on silky, polished tannins, and enhanced by fine peppery nuances that enliven a long, warm and unctuous finish". Domaine rated (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
In Puissalicon, a pretty little feudal village between sea and mountains, the original wines of Domaine des Capriers are born. The estate stretches from north to south along the Libron River. This gives it a great diversity of terroirs, from the Villafranchian terraces in the north to the pink gravelly marls in the south, via the limestone puechs. Marion and Mathieu Vergnes, a young winemaking sibling enamored of this terroir, have taken over the family estate and produce top-quality wines: les-larmes-d'emma red, a benchmark cuvée full of character, rêve-de-louis red, gourmet and easy-to-drink, the new cuvée octave, with definite potential, and the aromatic, crystalline les-larmes-d'emma rosé. The two whites, larmes-d'emma (100% viognier) and rêve-de-louis, are highly aromatic, well-defined, lively and well-balanced.

Pleasant discovery. Great value for money for a red that's easy to drink straight out of the bottle.

Good value for money. There's still some under the sole, so let's see how it evolves in a year or two!

Sweet, complex nose (cherries, blackcurrants), smooth, elegant and balanced on the palate, with a short, lingering finish.

A fine wine in a category that is rare in our country, the red wine -slightly- "sweet" as the American restaurant menus say.

My first purchase on 1jour1vin. I love it. Round and greedy wine as I like. Too bad I only bought two bottles. It was necessary to test
