Drink or Keep
Produced from the estate's young vines, Le Loup dans la Bergerie is a friendly, easy-drinking red, intense on the nose, with lovely aromas of red fruits, accompanied by subtle hints of menthol and spice. Well-balanced on the palate, round and supple, with very little tannin and a very fruity finish... The ideal companion for summer meals!

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
With one foot in the Pic Saint-Loup and the other in the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation and IGP, the Orliac family owns 80 hectares of vines in the garrigue in the heart of the Hérault. Jean oversees the estate's destiny with great intelligence, despite the bereavements that have affected the family. With several ranges of wine spread over this wide palette of terroirs (Bergerie de l'Hortus, Clos du Prieur), the Orliac family works to produce wines of great precision, particularly the fine, elegant reds. The style of the wines is evolving, with an expensive cuvée, Le Dit de l'Hortus, remaining in the estate's tradition, while the other cuvées are evolving towards lighter, more accessible wines.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2024) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Between Pic Saint-Loup and Causse de l'Hortus, in the Combe de Fambetou, this benchmark estate extends over 85 hectares of varied terroirs. Starting in 1978, Jean and Marie-Thérèse Orliac cleared the garrigue, restored the terraces, built a winery and a house, and then installed their children alongside them.
