"The 2007 Limoux is aging gracefully, with elegant notes of plum, blackcurrant and pencil sharpening. Fleshy, with ample fruit and lovely complexity, it should continue to reveal itself well in the future." (Wine Advocate 2015 - Jeb Dunnuck) - Ready to drink!

Limoux
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2011 guide) 16.5/20 (Reference wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2017) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the wine:
Long, powerful, intense in flavor, with a spicy note on the finish that gives it an astonishing dimension. The cedar finish is reminiscent of Pauillac, a Pauillac of fine origin.
About the domain :
Philippine de Rothschild, owner of Château Mouton-Rothschild in Pauillac, created this estate in Limoux, bringing with her a mastery of Bordeaux viticulture and vinification. Constantly evolving, thanks to a mastery of the terroir and the increasing age of the vineyards, the style and quality of the wines evolve over the years. The blend varies according to the vintage, with a proportion of Atlantic grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon) and Mediterranean grape varieties (Syrah, Malbec, Grenache). The Chardonnays, grafted a few years ago, are used to produce one of the appellation's finest whites.

About the wine:
When you belong to the House of Rothschild, you can only produce top-of-the-range wines. Fortunately, the Baron'Arques estate, owned by the Abbey of Saint-Polycarpe in the 17th century, has everything it takes not to disappoint. Its clay-limestone terroir, micro-climate, six top-quality grape varieties and dynamic winemakers all contribute to producing a remarkable wine whose bouquet combines complex red fruit aromas with hints of violets and spices. Generous and powerful, the palate will only reveal its full potential in four or five years' time with a salt-crusted saddle of lamb or game in sauce.
About the domain :
Formerly owned by the Abbey of Saint-Polycarpe in the 17th century, this 43-hectare estate was acquired in 1998 by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild (Château Mouton-Rothschild in Pauillac) and her two sons, who have completely renovated the vineyard and winery, making it one of the appellation's best-sellers.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated (2013 guide) 14/20 (Good)
About the wine:
The vegetal character is more pronounced in this 2007 vintage than in the others. The wine as a whole remains pleasant and easy to drink. The tannins melt into a crisp fruitiness with hints of crushed blackcurrant.
