Following successive frosts in the Loire, Loïc Mahé vinifies with the same care as his own grapes, specially selected and organically grown. On the nose, this Gamay-Grolleau develops intense, delicious aromas of wild flowers and acidic red and black berries. The wine is delicious and easy to drink on the palate, with no lack of finesse. An accessible, convivial Loire red!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domain rated (guide 2017) Selected (A domain or a house that has seduced us with one or more wines from its production, without us being able to give a general opinion on the style of the entire range)

About the domain :

Demanding and fastidious, Loïc Mahé takes great care to respect the balance of flora and fauna in his vineyard, which has been certified organic since 2008. He created this vineyard from scratch in 2000, starting with a small piece of land in Savennières, with no vines at the time! With the takeover of the Château La Franchaie vineyard in 2011, he now cultivates almost 11 hectares of vines, including a good heritage of vines in Savennières.

Domain Noted Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

Having settled in Anjou ten years ago, Loïc Mahé has gradually expanded a vineyard that remains on a human scale (5 ha). The aim of this young biodynamist is to express the soaked, whole character of the roads around Sainte-Gemmes. After a period when the wines were certainly sincere but rough, the vintages are gaining in precision, even if the ageing still has room for improvement.
