Award: Silver Medal at the Concours des Grands Vins de France in Mâcon.
A red Anjou with notes of ripe black fruit on the nose, evolving towards more complex nuances of spice. The attack is velvety and silky, with a perfume of ripe fruit (blackcurrant and prune) and smooth tannins... A seductive bottle, a fine Loire expression!

About the domain :

Built in the 15th century in the commune of Rochefort-sur-Loire, this 23-hectare estate belongs to Alain Château's Vignobles Germain et Associés group, as does Château Bellerive. Located in the Coteaux du Layon-Chaume appellation, which has just been "named" Chaume 1er Cru, Alain Château called on Michel Doucet to elaborate the wines. After many uses, the château is now a charming gîte where you can take a pleasant break in this region and taste some fine Coteaux du Layon. The Chaume 1er Cru is a real masterstroke, with an intense, rich liqueur, but also a fine bitter structure that makes it more complex and balanced.
