"The 2011 red Anjous are beautifully crafted, with a lovely spicy woodiness for Champs aux loup." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF) - "A cuvée de garde still on the reserve. The ageing somewhat masks the refined texture, with a palette of balsamic (coffee), tobacco and black fruit flavors. An intense style to be revisited within 2 years". Tasting & pairing
Eye
deep ruby colour with good intensity
Nose
is bursting with juicy fruit, underlined by subtle oak. The definition is more complex, with notes of wild berries and spice from the ageing process. A hint of zan, licorice and balsamic finish the aromatic phase.
Mouth
Full-bodied and firm, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated, the grain of tannin is still in relief but of noble quality. The palate is promising, but still needs to mellow.
Serve
decant at 16-17°C

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domain rated (2019 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux-du-Layon and Chaume find here a fine and sincere expression. A sure bet.

A cuvée de garde still on the reserve. The ageing somewhat masks the refined texture, with a palette of balsamic (coffee), tobacco and black fruit flavors. An intense style to be revisited within 2 years.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2015 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)
Domain rated (2019 guide) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
The 2011 red Anjous are beautifully crafted, with a lovely spicy woodiness for Champs aux Loup.
About the domain :
Roger-François Béguinot, who made his fortune in baby food, and his wife fell in love with Château Soucherie in 2007. This 28-hectare estate is ideally situated on a south-facing schist slope between Beaulieu and Rochefort, in the Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon and Chaume appellations.
