Château Soucherie
Château Soucherie is located on a schistose hillside on the border of Beaulieu-sur-Layon and Rochefort-sur-Loire. The Château Soucherie vineyard covers 36 hectares in the Anjou, Coteaux du Layon Chaume and Savennières appellations.

The Château Soucherie estate, which is currently undergoing natural conversion, is managed using sustainable agriculture to ensure respect for the vines, the grapes, the heritage and the diversity of the terroirs. At Château Soucherie, all work on the vines is carried out by hand: from leaf thinning and disbudding to trellising and harvesting. AOC Chaume and AOC Coteau-du-Layon sweet wines, the treasures of Château Soucherie, are made from 100% botrytized grapes.

1*Étoile Hachette

(2014 vintage notes)

With its luminous, golden yellow color, this Savennières is crystalline and pure on the nose, with hints of blond wood brought on by ageing. The attack is full-bodied and racy, thanks in particular to fine mineral bitters. The finish is long, chiselled and lemony, with a saline finish. A great gastronomic Loire white!

Blanc Ivoire is a delicate wine, offering white fruit and lemon aromas. Slightly spicy freshness adds complexity to this taut cuvée. The balance between bitters and acidity is well mastered. A most enjoyable bottle!

This Coteau du Layon expresses itself powerfully with aromas combining crisp apple and rhubarb with the sweetness of ripe pear. The velvety, persistent fruity aromas on the palate are very present, while giving way to a lovely, typically Ligérienne freshness. A very pretty cuvée!

This rosé is very typical of Loire Cabernet: red fruits (strawberries, raspberries...), blue flowers (iris, violet), then a touch of eucalyptus that adds a touch of freshness. A suave, mouth-filling wine, with a rich alcohol/moisture balance and refreshing acidity... A true table rosé!

"This is a dry, very dry Anjou. Flavors bursting with citrus fruits, very incisive and long-lasting, awaken our taste buds. The firm, straightforward chewiness takes over, thanks to a lively finish. (Les Meilleurs Vins de France - Gault Millau). An elegant, fine white, with a silky texture and balance that hangs on a thread. Good acidity and little fat promote a fine mineral tension on the finish... A real treat!

"It's on these terroirs and thanks to this river that noble rot can do its work and settle on the grapes, concentrating them in sugar. This 2011 has all the characteristics of these sweet wines, with notes of dried fruit and acacia, a supple mouthfeel and a slightly acidic finish. Enjoy with fruit salad or pan-fried foie gras". "The 2011 red Anjous are beautifully crafted, with a lovely spicy woodiness for Champs aux loup." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF) - "A cuvée de garde still on the reserve. The ageing somewhat masks the refined texture, with a palette of balsamic (coffee), tobacco and black fruit flavors. An intense style to be revisited within 2 years". "As for Chaume 2010, born of old chenin (seventy years old), it bears witness to the secret magic of beige schist. A delicious, fresh nectar, also awarded two stars". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013). A Chaume that first expresses itself with floral aromas (rosemary, basil) before blossoming into a bouquet of exotic fruits and mango... Racy and subtle!

This cuvée expresses itself powerfully with aromas of fresh white and yellow fruit (apricots, peaches, mirabelles...), exotic fruit and citrus. The palate is round, velvety and suave, with the same aromas dominated by the freshness of exotic fruits, enhanced by a citrus note that underlines the slightly acidic finish. Exquisite!

New vintage, 2008 rated: Bettane & Desseauve 15/20
This lovely Côteaux du Layon Chaume expresses itself powerfully with exotic notes and figs. A note of freshness is perceptible (rosemary, Provencal herbs). On the palate, we find the same aromatic palette as on the nose, with density and length.
