RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2017 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2025 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Lively and crisp, Peu Muleau's velvety fruit interpret the joyful, digestible character of Bourgueil with verve, while preserving a precise, slender structure.
About the domain :
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie continue the work of thirteen generations at this historic Bourgueil estate with love and rigor. Here, Cabernet Franc is gently vinified to express the nuances of the sand, clay and limestone terroirs of the lower, mid and upper slopes. Each label is judiciously dressed in a color that reflects the intensity and complexity of the wine: from bright red for Peu Muleau to deep purple for Grand-Mont. These absolute benchmarks of Bourgueil highlight the fine, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc, while at the same time displaying a magnificent suavity of texture. We salute the bottle ageing in the tuffeau cellars before release.

1 in May 2017: A little closed, I find the wine a little below Galichets or Bourgueil of Y. Amirault
