"In Touraine parlance, "galichets" refers to gravel clusters, which are particularly well-suited to Cabernet Franc. This flagship cuvée of the domaine rightly gives pride of place to the terroir. A bouquet of jammy black fruit makes you want to continue tasting. The palate is rich and complex, fleshy and silky, underlined by a hint of "terroitée" freshness. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated (2018 guide) 16.5/20 + Coup de Coeur (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2025 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Even before bottling, it's already eye-catching with its fleshy, weathered texture, a round, refined expression of a fine gravel terroir. This healthy, juicy wine will be irresistible at the table!
About the domain :
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie continue the work of thirteen generations at this historic Bourgueil estate with love and rigor. Here, Cabernet Franc is gently vinified to express the nuances of the sand, clay and limestone terroirs of the lower, mid and upper slopes. Each label is judiciously dressed in a color that reflects the intensity and complexity of the wine: from bright red for Peu Muleau to deep purple for Grand-Mont. These absolute benchmarks of Bourgueil highlight the fine, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc, while at the same time displaying a magnificent suavity of texture. We salute the bottle ageing in the tuffeau cellars before release.

Deep, dark red color, nose of red berries with a hint of kirsch. Ample and round, full, greedy, with a fine, taut finish. A fine bottle.

Not yet tasted, but the wine is generally very good after 4 years in bottle. 2014 is a (very) good year in the Loire, first bottles drunk in 2018: the wine is becoming more complex and intense. Superb, beautiful juice!

Grandiose! Fruit, substance and breed. Silky, digestible, greedy and vinified in a low-interventionist spirit, the better to let the terroir express itself. Classy. Bravo, we want more!
