Domain de La Chevalerie
Domain de la Chevalerie is a perfect representative of the Bourgueil appellation. Located at the crossroads of Touraine and Anjou, in the Loire Valley, the family estate of Domain de la Chevalerie is run by Emmanuel and Laurie Caslot, the children of Pierre Caslot who died in 2014. The sparkling Stéphanie Caslot passed away in February 2021.
This talented duo run the Domain de la Chevalerie vineyard according to organic farming principles, perpetuating a tradition that goes back more than 350 years to produce tasty cuvées that truly reflect their unique terroirs.

Made from plot-based or special cuvées, the Bourgueil wines from Domain de la Chevalerie are as straightforward as the Cabernets that go into them, deep and always delicious when young. Although all in one piece, the estate's 38 hectares have multiple geological identities. For generations, observation has enabled us to translate these nuances into specific Domain de la Chevalerie cuvées.

"In Touraine parlance, "galichets" refers to gravel clusters, which are particularly well-suited to Cabernet Franc. This flagship cuvée of the domaine rightly gives pride of place to the terroir. A bouquet of jammy black fruit makes you want to continue tasting. The palate is rich and complex, fleshy and silky, underlined by a hint of "terroitée" freshness. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

"A cuvée that flirts with tufa and an aromatic palette of rose and blackcurrant. Restrained, the palate displays full fruitiness, underlined by fine tannins. The finish is tight and will require a little patience". (Les Meilleurs Vins de France - Gault Millau). Its minerality is followed by a variety of aromatic nuances, with notes of sweet peppers and candied prunes.
