"A ravishing 2018 from Les Galichets that brilliantly evokes the solar concentration of the vintage through dark aromas of black fruit and spice, without tipping over into excessive illustration. Both soothing and energetic on the palate, this is a great wine for laying down at the beginning of its life". (Le Guide RVF 2024).

About the wine:
A delightful 2018 from Les Galichets that brilliantly evokes the solar concentration of the vintage through dark aromas of black fruits and spices, without tipping over into excessive illustration. With a mouthfeel that's both soothing and energetic, this is a great wine for laying down at the beginning of its life.
About the domain :
Emmanuel Caslot and his sister Laurie continue the work of thirteen generations at this historic Bourgueil estate with love and rigor. Here, Cabernet Franc is gently vinified to express the nuances of the sand, clay and limestone terroirs of the lower, mid and upper slopes. Each label is judiciously dressed in a color that reflects the intensity and complexity of the wine: from bright red for Peu Muleau to deep purple for Grand-Mont. These absolute benchmarks of Bourgueil highlight the fine, cool austerity of Cabernet Franc, while at the same time displaying a magnificent suavity of texture. We salute the bottle ageing in the tuffeau cellars before release.

About the wine:
Galichets 2018 is light for the year. Despite the ripeness and sweetness of the fruit and its soft mid-palate, it has a seductive, fresh finish that brings refreshment and line. The 50-year-old vines are to blame. It's still young, but everything is in balance in this warm vintage.
