"A serious wine, Prestige 2014 lacks neither sap nor length. Its generosity and depth make it a wine of excellent level, surpassing in finesse and richness of constitution the previous vintages of this vintage. A highly recommended purchase " (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2016 - Gerbelle & Maurange)

Wine rated (2016 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)

Domain rated (guide 2016) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and that, as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the wine:

More serious, Prestige 2014 lacks neither sap nor length, more generous and complete than the cold 2013, and should even surpass the solid 2012 in finesse.

About the domain :

Stéphane Guion, 43, has a long history of organic winegrowing (over forty years), and has followed in his father's footsteps as a polyculteur. In the commune of Benais, where he has moved his winery, he produces Cabernet Franc with higher-than-average acidity and finer tannins. His Cuvée Prestige (a selection of vines between thirty and eighty years old), with its notes of black fruit and pencil lead, delivers in its youth a taut, sharp palate, with substance and energy. An invigoratingly frank but sometimes austere Bourgueil. The wines reflect their terroirs well, but we'd prefer them to be aged a little more discreetly.

12 bottles drunk between 2016 and 2017, a wine with fruit and substance, could last a long time, but as it is greedy......Very good value for money

Not very expressive on the nose. On the palate, a certain harshness. Not at all fruity. Tasted 1 and 2 years apart, this wine didn't convince me or give me much pleasure. Correct, but no more.

On peppers and red berries, it's simple and varietal, not very ripe but clean and expressive.

Successful wine, great rectitude of taste, present tannins. A fine, simple wine, but superb with charcuterie. Good Q/P ratio
