Bourgueil
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2025 guide) 91/100
Domain rated (2025 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
The flinty clay soils on the Bourgueil limestone crust give Grand Clos an intense, mellow tannic structure, with salivating acidity and often floral accents.
About the domain :
Yannick and Benoît Amirault are perfectionist winegrowers who have naturally converted to organic methods. 19 hectares of Cabernet Franc, two-thirds in Bourgueil, the rest in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, each with a good heritage of old vines.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (guide 2025) 2*Coup de Coeur (Outstanding wine)
Domain rated (guide 2025) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Le Grand Clos 2022 is sure to seduce even the most discerning palate. Draped in a superb carmine color, this wine offers a rich palette of jammy black fruits, toasted wood and chocolate. Marked by a hearty chewiness on the attack, the palate unfolds, voluminous and complex, with discreet woody notes of caramel and well-refined tannins. A fine cuvée that will express itself even better in a few years' time.
About the domain :
Active in Saint-Nicolas and Bourgueil, Yannick Amirault is one of the established names in these two appellations. His son Benoît now cultivates the estate's 19 hectares of organic vines.

About the domain :
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (guide 2024) 92/100 (Revue Juillet-Août)
Domaine rated (2025 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
A precise definition of a ripe, concentrated Bourgueil. Floral and raspberry notes. A fine, precise wine that needs two more years to relax.
About the domain :
Benoît joined the family domaine in Bourgueil in 2003 to continue the family adventure initiated by his father Yannick in 1997. The vineyards are divided between Bourgueil (two-thirds) and the neighboring Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation. You can sense the winemakers' perfectionism and their desire to restore the expression of terroirs through very silky, civilized Cabernet Francs that still retain their bright fruit. The estate has been certified organic since 2009, and each year the wines gain in purity thanks to increasingly accurate vinification (truncated wooden vats, stoneware barrels and jars). The 2022 and 2023 delight us with their frank, clean expression and finesse.
