"Young garnet-red color. Typical nose of wild berries, humus and autumnal undergrowth. On the palate, a model of balance and aromatic veracity. Elegant body with just the right amount of depth to allow the aromas to unfold in complete tranquillity. A model." (Gilbert & Gaillard 2017) New from 1J1V!

Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated (2018 guide) 15.5/20 (Very good wine)
Domain rated 1*Star (A serious, commendable production, in keeping with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the wine:
Well-calibrated length, fresh, well-constituted tannins, this is already a fine bottle.
About the domain :
The result of a long family history, Domaine Bruneau-Dupuy is now run by Sylvain. Since 2012, the vineyard has been in organic conversion. The estate covers an area of 20 hectares, protected by forest to the north. Half of the vineyard is located on south-facing slopes, covered with old vines planted on clay-limestone soils. The wines produced from these vines are full-bodied and long on the palate. The other half of the vineyard is planted in sandy soils, producing lighter, fruitier wines to be enjoyed young. At less than 15 euros, the wines offer good value for money.

About the wine:
Aged in egg-shaped vats, a pleasant wine that comes alive with prune and candied cherry on the nose, before showing a little more severity on the palate. Wait for more mellowness.
About the domain :
Representing the third generation of winegrowers on this consistently high-quality estate, Sylvain Bruneau, who set up in 1998, has converted his vineyard of some 20 hectares to organic production.
Gilbert & Gaillard
