Matthias and Emile Roblin
4th generation of winegrowers at Château de Maimbray, Matthias and Emile Roblin manage the forty or so parcels that make up this 19-hectare vineyard.

Matthias and Emile Roblin grow Sauvignon Blanc (mainly) and Pinot Noir on white soils - Kimmeridgian and Portlandian limestone-clay soils - in a sustainable way. Most plots are grassed to prevent soil erosion and facilitate grape ripening.

In the cellar, Matthias and Emile Roblin work by gravity, intervening little during vinification to let the wines express the characteristic aromas of their Sancerre terroirs.

"Harmonious

"The combination of vat and oak maturation of this parcel-based cuvée produces a wine with good maturity and a broad texture. It has a slight hint of spice, with peppery accents and a tangy texture. The fruit comes through with good acidity on the finish." (Wine Enthusiast 2020 - Roger Voss)

This is a straightforward, invigorating cuvée, faithful to the style of the region. The nose explodes in the glass, with exuberant fruit, white-fleshed fruit and floral fragrances. With a lively, mineral attack, the palate is very straightforward, with a fruity finish. The Sancerrois style is perfectly respected!

pinot noir
spicy
elegant

" This producer's best red wine is impressive. Fragrant, mellow and ripe but still with acidity, the wood-aged wine is elegant and spicy. The ripe tannins hold the wine together, and give it the structure supporting the richness. Drink now. (Wine Enthusiast)

sauvignon

chicken supreme

"Named after the fossils that formed much of the soil in and around Sancerre, this wine is rich, smooth-textured with hints of toast from wood aging. Tamed acidity adds a bright touch to the ripe white fruit. A well-balanced wine to drink from 2021 onwards". (Wine Enthusiast)

(2018 vintage notes)
pinot noir
crunchy

This Pinot Noir, grown on clay-limestone and clay-loam soils, is expressive and very pleasing, with greedy red fruits. Crisp, the palate reveals a fine, racy texture, carrying us through to a beautiful finish spiced with fine touches of pepper. Pleasure guaranteed!
