About the domain :

The arrival of the talented Jean-Philippe Louis as technical director has breathed new life into this sleepy Saumurois beauty, for here we find clay-limestone and benevolent sunshine. The 2018s herald the estate's resurrection, with a fleshy, fruity cuvée of old vines in the reds. The white Clos des Oratoriens requires more patience. Stay tuned!

An orchard of white pome fruits, complemented by citrus and white flowers, on a terribly graphite framework with beautifully sharp acidity. Everything comes together: freshness, finesse and tone galvanized by beautiful saline notes that line the palate, before being lifted by beautiful bitters in an incredibly thirst-quenching and invigorating crystalline finish. The only fly in the ointment: an excesive 30% increase in 3 years! This simple, uncluttered Muscadet was chosen to enhance the iodized side of a lunch with fishing friends at the cabanne au carrelet de la Tremblade, ready to gobble up a platter of Fines de Claire de Noirmoutier oysters, followed by a hearty, savory dish of spaghetti alle vongole. Score = 4.
