Chaintres Castle
Visit Chaintres Castle is a charming 17th-century manor house with a patina of age, set amidst vines, trees and flowers, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation. Since 1938, the Tigny family has been perpetuating the tradition of producing refined Saumur Champigny wines.

The Chaintres Castle extends over some twenty hectares, including the famous Clos du Château, which is exceptionally large and unique in the appellation (nearly 18 hectares). It was planted in 1675 by the Oratorian Fathers of Notre Dame des Ardilliers, who chose the site for its terroir and sunshine.

After being one of the first estates to be certified in Sustainable Agriculture, the Chaintres Castle turned to organic farming, and is now certified organic by Ecocert.

This Saumur 's pale gold color gives way to a nose of white fruit aromas. On the palate, it is long and full, with citrus notes such as grapefruit. A perfect accompaniment to grilled fish and cheese. Enjoy it now!

Château de Chaintres - Cuvée des Oratoriens 2008

Notes : Vins & Terroirs Authentiques 17.5/20
This wine comes from the oldest vines (over 60 years old) planted at the bottom of the Clos des Oratoriens, on deep clay-limestone soil. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months, it opens with fruity aromas mingling with more virile tones. On the palate, the red fruit aromas are elegant and refined.
