"Born from half-century-old vines, this cuvée, like all the others on the estate, has been exposed to wood: its eighteen-month stay in barrel has not, however, crushed the wine. Its color is more reminiscent of cherry than blackcurrant. The nose is full of red and black fruit, with a hint of vanilla and roasted coffee. The palate is in unison. Despite its marked tannic structure, this balanced, long wine leaves an impression of suppleness and ease. "We could see it in a wine bar," wrote one juror." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins)

About the wine:
A small estate indeed: 2.48 ha to date. A winemaker at Château de Chaintres, Richard Desouche wanted his own vineyard, and in 2006 acquired parcels that he now farms organically (conversion began in 2010). Born from half-century-old vines, this cuvée, like all the others on the estate, has been aged in wood: its eighteen-month stay in barrel has not, however, crushed the wine. Its color is more reminiscent of cherry than blackcurrant. On the nose, lots of red and black fruit with a hint of vanilla and roast. The palate is in unison. Despite its marked tannic structure, this balanced, long wine leaves an impression of suppleness and ease. "We could see it in a wine bar," writes one juror.
