Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2018 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

An exceptional terroir, whose soil has never seen a single input. The 20-hectare vineyard is spectacular, with terraces clinging to the mountainside on an impressive slope, offering breathtaking views of the sea. Located in the historic, oldest part of the Cassis vineyard, the property as we know it today was created by Jules Savon, former mayor of the village. Purchased in 1920 by the Zafiropulo family, it is now run by the younger generation, represented by Jonathan and his wife. The elegance of the estate's wines is as refreshing on the palate as a summer breeze on the sea. The finest expression of the appellation, produced from a great terroir.

Rated estate (2018 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About wine:

A cuvée focused on citrus, mineral, and apricot notes, well balanced between a mellow liveliness and a pleasant sweetness.

About the estate:

The Sack family has been running this estate, now organic, for almost a century (since 1921). Located in the Calanques National Park, the property has 12 hectares of vineyards terraced on the slopes of Cap Canaille, facing the sea, and dominated by an Art Deco mansion.
