Beaumes-de-Venise
Beaumes-de-Venise is a Rhône Valley appellation, recognized as an AOC in 1937, and qualified as a "Cru des Côtes du Rhône" in 2005. The vineyards are located on the south-southeast slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
The main grape variety of AOC Beaumes-de-Venise is Grenache noir for at least 50% and the complementary grape variety is Syrah for a minimum of 25%. Mourvèdre, Cinsault and other grape varieties authorized in the Rhône Valley may be added, with the possibility of 10% white grapes.
The character of each Beaumes-de-Venise AOC cru is determined by its terroir: the nature of the soil, its exposure and the prevailing climate are all essential factors in the quality of each wine from each parcel. AOC Beaumes-de-Venise red wines come from three major terroirs: Terres du Trias, Terres Blanches du Crétacée and Terres Grises du Jurassique.
Respect for the environment and the quality of our wines are at the heart of the concerns of the 100 winegrowers who run this Beaumes-de-Venise AOC.

Xavier Vignon - Beaumes-de-Venise Arcane L'Étoile
4/5 (33 reviews)
95/100 Jeb Dunnuck
"Sourced from higher altitude sites, Arcane l'Étoile is another elegant cuvée from Xavier, turned towards finesse that's both rich and fresh. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre plus a small amount of Viognier from 2015, 2016 and 2017. There's something profound about its texture and balance. Notes of black raspberries, currants, dried flowers, lavender and pepper make up this beautiful, full-bodied, elegant wine that could well become one of Beaumes de Venise's greatest red wines to come." (Jeb Dunnuck)

16/20 Jancis Robinson
With its intense purple hue, this southern red expresses its fresh, gourmand character. The nose is typical: expressive, greedy, with scents of spices, black pepper and fruit, notably ripe cherries. The attack on the palate is well rounded, with silky tannins and a persistent bouquet of red fruit and smoky tea, adding a touch of freshness. An elegant Beaumes-de-Venise to enjoy with beef!

"A classic blend of Grenache and Syrah, this red wine takes care of elegance. Spices, thyme, fresh red fruits, the nose bears witness. Notes of tobacco and undergrowth stretch out this palette in a round, long palate of tempered power. Already pleasant.(Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020)
