Beaumes-de-Venise

"A shooting star up for grabs

"Sourced from higher altitude sites, Arcane l'Étoile is another elegant cuvée from Xavier, turned towards finesse that's both rich and fresh. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre plus a small amount of Viognier from 2015, 2016 and 2017. There's something profound about its texture and balance. Notes of black raspberries, currants, dried flowers, lavender and pepper make up this beautiful, full-bodied, elegant wine that could well become one of Beaumes de Venise's greatest red wines to come." "A reference!"

"Smoked bacon, bay leaf and olive brine. This is a very fine wine for a whole cluster, with lovely tannic finesse and texture. Powerful, tannic and cleansing, yet compact, with powerful acidity, a dry, savory finish and perfect balance. A good vintage for this Southern Rhône wine, which always offers good value for money." (Decanter 2024)

"An appellation not without good value for connoisseurs, Beaumes de Venise 2015 is a 60/40 blend of Syrah and Grenache that offers plenty of peppery herbs, black cherries and hints of horsehair in a nicely concentrated, fresh and crisp package." (Wine Advocate 2016 - Robert Parker)
