James Suckling
"Grand Condrieu!"
"Coteau de Vernon displays superb subtlety and complexity of aroma, with a dazzling finish." (Le Guide RVF 2024). A wine of extreme elegance and perfect balance, it perfectly combines freshness with mentholated vegetal notes and exuberant fruit. Noble, taut, straightforward, precise and delicate, it is one of the finest expressions of Viognier's subtlety. The estate's flagship Condrieu.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
5-star rated estates (Exceptional producers, those who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)
About the domain :
Emma Amsellem has joined her mother Christine Vernay to develop the rugged hillsides of Condrieu and Côte Rôtie, lands drenched in sunshine when frost doesn't interfere, as in 2021, a vintage Emma is not about to forget since she had just returned to the domaine. Beyond the vagaries of the weather, the year was a great success for the whites, with saline expressions well in place. A vintage in which all the splendor of the Vernon hillside can be found.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 96/100 Favorite
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)
About the wine:
Coteau de Vernon displays superb aromatic subtlety and complexity, with a dazzling finish.
About the domain :
Christine Vernay, who brilliantly took over the reins of this emblematic Condrieu estate in 1996, is handing over the reins to her daughter, Emma Amsellem. While the estate is intimately linked to the history of the Condrieu appellation, of which it is still the most brilliant representative, it also offers a remarkable selection of reds whose maturation has been refined in recent years. Tasting a decade-old Condrieu cuvée here reveals the potential of this terroir, too often overwhelmed by the varietal notes of Viognier. The energy and potential contained in the estate's wines set a benchmark.

About the wine:
Aromas of citron, green apples, wild herbs, stones and a few salty notes. The palate is medium-bodied, very mineral and concentrated. Vertical and tasty. Great tension and balance, with a long, vibrant, salty finish. Made from organically grown grapes. For drinking or cellaring.
