Côtes du Rhône Grand Veneur 2021 is garnet-red with purplish highlights. It offers a varied aromatic range, combining fresh fruit, red berries, wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry... A tasty wine with good volume, silky tannins and notes of licorice and black pepper on the finish. A tasty Côtes du Rhône, with a charming, garrigue-like style.

Alain Jaume - Grand Veneur
Côtes du Rhône
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
A key figure in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Tavel, Alain Jaume's family runs a top-quality wine merchant business, as well as owning fine vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône. Their main source of pride is the grand-veneur wine, a classic Châteauneuf. Clos de Sixte, the family estate in Tavel, offers a fine image of the cru, while in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the cuvée de vieilles-vignes is one of the appellation's finest wines. The estate's destiny is being brilliantly assured by Alain Jaume's children.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Of Castelpapal origin, Alain Jaume and his sons, Sébastien and Christophe, perpetuate a winegrowing tradition that dates back to 1826. They manage a 155-hectare organic vineyard spread over 4 estates: Grand Veneur in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Clos de Sixte in Lirac, Ch. Mazane in Vacqueyras, and Dom. la Grangette Saint-Joseph in AOC Côtes-du-Rhône, all complemented by a trading activity. A sure bet.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Estate rated 4*Stars (Very high quality production)
About the domain :
The Jaume family have been winegrowers "...since Mathieu Jaume decided to cultivate vines in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 1826". Today, Odile and Alain Jaume and their sons, Christophe and Sébastien, manage a 70-hectare vineyard (Domaine Grand Veneur, Clos de Sixte), which also includes the Lirac and Côtes du Rhône appellations. Grenache noir and Syrah dominate the grape varieties. The estate began the transition to organic farming in 2009.
