Alain Jaume - Grand Veneur
Today, Sébastien, Christophe and Hélène ensure the prosperity of the estate. Combining their family's know-how with their oenological and viticultural expertise, they bring out the best in Domaine Grand Veneur 's terroirs. Recognition has become worldwide: "few estates in the world are as well managed as those of the Alain JAUME family...". J. Dunnuck.
In 2003, the Le Clos de Sixte vineyard was acquired in the neighboring Lirac appellation, one of the 15 crus of this region, a few kilometers across from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its terroir is certainly one of the finest in the Rhône, with plateaus very similar to those already owned by the estate. Millions of years ago, the river built up the subsoil on the left and right banks, depositing sandy clays and the famous "galets roulés" (rounded pebbles).

"After 12 months of mixed ageing in vats and oak barrels, this pretty wine with its fresh notes of Morello cherry and spices charms with its balance on the palate, where it reveals itself to be both taut, silky and finely extracted, prolonged by an elegant bitterness tinged with aromatic herbs. A stimulating, well-flavored cuvée". (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

"After 12 months' ageing, in vats for the Grenache and in barrels for the Syrah and Mourvèdre, this 2021 presents an attractive composite bouquet where ripe fruit (black cherry, blackberry) mingles with notes of pine sap and clove. On the palate, the wine is skilfully fruity, round and velvety, with well-established tannins and a lovely fresh finish". (Le Guide Hachette 2025)
Domaine Grand Veneur - Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes rouge 2021
92/100 Wine Spectator
What a beautiful Châteauneuf du Pape! A sublime aromatic palette that augurs well for the 2021 vintage. In its youth, this cuvée highlights notes of spice, ripe fruit and vanilla. The length is magnificent, with an appreciable salinity and suavity. For sure, it's a wine to have in the cellar and even to forget, to rediscover in a few years' time!

89/100 James Suckling
"A metronome's consistency for this cuvée born of Grenache (80%), Syrah (15%) and a touch of Mourvèdre. The jury appreciated its clean, typical expression of Zan, dark berries and toasted aromas. Finesse, suppleness and caressing, the palate unfurls notes of blackcurrant paste, underpinned by soft tannins and discreet woodiness with accents of dried fruit. A well-balanced, gourmet Gigondas, very much in keeping with its vintage". (Le Guide Hachette 2023).
Domaine Grand Veneur - Côtes-du-Rhône Les Champauvins blanc 2023

A refined white Côtes-du-Rhône, revealing floral and white-fleshed fruit aromas (white peach and pear). Fresh, mineral and airy on the palate, with long-lasting aromas of apricot. This cuvée is sure to delight your aperitifs!
Alain Jaume - Tavel Le Crétacé rosé 2022
3.7/5 (3 reviews)
91/100 Robert Parker
"Tavel Le Crétacé 2022 is an exuberant, fruity and direct wine, opening with aromas of cherry, watermelon and ripe peach. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and flavorful, with a long, mouth-watering finish. This is one of the best Cretaceous bottles I can remember, a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault and Mourvèdre." (Wine Advocate 2023)
Alain Jaume - Côtes-du-Rhône Grand Veneur blanc 2022

This Côtes-du-Rhône Grand Veneur Blanc, with its primary aromas of white flowers and exotic fruit, has a lovely pale yellow color with golden highlights. On the palate, the fruit appears instantly, with floral and white peach notes. A surprisingly gourmand and fresh Rhône white!

Côtes du Rhône Grand Veneur 2021 is garnet-red with purplish highlights. It offers a varied aromatic range, combining fresh fruit, red berries, wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry... A tasty wine with good volume, silky tannins and notes of licorice and black pepper on the finish. A tasty Côtes du Rhône, with a charming style and garrigue tones.
Domaine Grand Veneur - Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Fontaine 2021
3/5 (1 review)
94/100 Jeb Dunnuck
"Châteauneuf Du Pape La Fontaine Blanc 2021 is a much more concentrated and serious wine, which needs to be oxygenated to open up properly today. Made from Roussanne, it has a medium gold color and rich aromas of honeyed stone fruit, orange blossom, caramelized peach and toast. Nice attack on the palate too, it's medium-bodied, and offers a multi-dimensional, concentrated feel, as well as good acidity on the finish." (Jeb Dunnuck 2022) A benchmark for the appellation, this superb gourmet white is a sure bet!
Domaine Grand Veneur - Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Origines 2020
93+/100 Jeb Dunnuck
-
94/100 James Suckling
" Probably the most modern of the range, Les Origines 2020 is composed of 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and the rest Syrah. Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and Syrah. It is entirely destemmed and aged for 16 months in equal parts new barrels and concrete vats. It reflects its ageing with a touch of spicy wood, but presents classic Southern Rhône notes of black raspberry, blackcurrant, licorice, pepper and charcuterie. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and nicely concentrated, this is a fine wine that will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and keep through 2035." (Jeb Dunnuck 2022)
Domaine Grand Veneur - Côtes du Rhône Blanc de Viognier 2021
3.3/5 (3 reviews)
89/100 Robert Parker
Blanc de Viognier is an intense, delicate Côtes-du-Rhône with floral and white-fleshed fruit aromas. Fresh, mineral and airy on the palate. The white peach and pear aromas are the most expressive, while the fruity characters are long-lasting and evolve on notes of apricot.
Alain Jaume - Cairanne Les Travées 2020
4/5 (1 review)
90/100 James Suckling
"Beyond the very full black fruit aromas, this straightforward southern Rhône red remains well-balanced with discreet, velvety tannins and a lovely freshness that lifts the finish perfectly." (James Suckling 2022)

"Almost pure Grenache [...] Jaume's 2019 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieux Terron is pretty good. It shows some slightly herbaceous floral notes on the attack, accentuating the cherry and strawberry aromas. Full-bodied and round, it finishes long and silky." (Wine Advocate 2022)
Domaine du Clos de Sixte - Lirac 2018
91-93/100 Robert Parker
-
1*Étoile Hachette
"Another first-rate vintage for this property, the Clos de Sixte 2018 Lirac looks set to rival 2016. It is composed of 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre, aged in concrete (70%) and barrels (30%). Floral notes mark the nose, while raspberry and apricot flavors appear on the ample palate. It's creamy and supple on the attack, with good tannins on the long finish." (Wine Advocate 2019)
Domaine Grand Veneur - Châteauneuf-du-Pape Le Miocène 2019
2*Étoiles Hachette
-
89/100 Robert Parker
-
16/20 Jancis Robinson
"From a north-facing clay-limestone parcel in the La Fontaine area, this cuvée combines clairette and roussanne. Aged without wood, it reveals floral and spicy nuances. Stone fruit comes through on the round, fresh palate, without a hint of heaviness. The mineral, warm-stone finish prolongs the pleasure". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021). A white Châteauneuf du Pape of great finesse!
