"The 2020 Côtes du Rhône should be stunning and rival any existing Côtes du Rhône. Composed of 75% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah, it has plenty of notes of ground pepper and dried flowers, as well as a superb core of blackberry and black cherry. It's a full-bodied pleasure but still has elegance and complexity." (Jeb Dunnuck 2022)

About the domain :
With a great deal of pragmatism and sound principles, Michel Gassier restructured the vineyard and gave himself the means to produce white and red wines. The prestige cuvées named Joseph Torrès express themselves fully after one to three years in bottle, while the other wines can be enjoyed from their earliest youth.

The palate, full of suppleness in a powerful, slender body, shows a rich aromatic presence of ripe dark berries, complemented by notes of garrigue and undergrowth. Remarkably well-balanced, with a welcome fresh finish of violet and pepper. On a good 2020 vintage, this amiable, low-tannin CDR is accessible today with Sete red tuna steaks with olives and capers. At this price, it's a great wine to bring home by the case, especially as it still has a few good years ahead of it! Score 3.9.
