Bettane & Desseauve
The 2017 Costières de Nîmes Lou Coucardié reminds me a little of a classic old-school Bandol with its ripe, seductive, and incredibly fleshy profile. Loaded with fruit and offering plenty of spicy meat, garrigue, pepper, and new saddle leather aromas, as well as full-bodied richness, soft tannins, and a great finish, this is one hell of a Costières de Nîmes. It can be enjoyed now, but it has enough tannins to justify a short period of cellaring and should evolve nicely for over a decade. [...]" (Jeb Dunnuck)

Wine rated 15.5/20 (Very good wine)
About wine:
A beautiful expression of Roussanne and Grenache grapes, this is a lively wine combining white flowers with sweet spices.

Wine rated 90-92/100 (Outstanding wine)
Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About wine:
The Costières de Nîmes Lou Coucardié 2017 is composed of 50% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, and 20% Syrah, which will spend two full years in 500- and 600-liter demi-muids. Aromas of dried spices and cola accentuate the bright berries on the nose of this full-bodied, supple wine, which becomes velvety but remains slightly open on the long finish.

About the estate:
With great pragmatism and sound principles, Michel Gassier restructured the vineyard and equipped himself with the means to produce fine wines, both white and red. The prestigious Joseph Torrès vintages reach their full potential after one to three years in the bottle, while the other wines can be enjoyed in their early youth.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 91/100
About wine:
An intense, balsamic nose with hints of leather and ash characterizes this powerful, rather uncompromising southern red with lots of character. A very solid tannic base with a voluminous finish. A Mourvèdre-based blend. Made from organically grown grapes. Ready to drink or cellar.

Toro La Brava or Dodge RAM 5.7 4x4? One thing is certain: as soon as you start the engine, the takeoff is carried away by a powerful acceleration that propels the slender and racy palate, without being massive or brutal, into a complex whirlwind of infused black and red fruits, mixed with spices and sprinkled with succulent notes of garrigue, bourbon vanilla, and leather that testify to meticulous aging. It then purrs in a rich and pulpy mid-palate thanks to a full and deep body, supported by a fleshy texture and refined tannins. The power continues in a beautiful, sapid and sappy finish, softened by a touch of freshness. An exceptional Costières that will continue to improve, as it has plenty of potential. To celebrate Saint Mary's Day with the family, enjoy it with slow-roasted marinated goat, allowing you to appreciate the delicate tenderness and delicious smokiness of the meat on the palate. Rating: 4.5.
